The Lyn McLain Memorial Tour Fund
Honor our Founder's Vision and Help Young Musicians Experience the World Through Music
For more than 60 years, our students have carried their music beyond the DC region and around the world. Since 1960, DCYOP has toured 24 countries, giving young musicians opportunities to perform for new audiences, experience different cultures, and grow together through music.
International touring was especially meaningful to DCYOP founder Lyn McLain. Throughout his life, Lyn inspired young musicians and led them on more than a dozen international tours. The Lyn McLain Memorial Tour Fund honors his legacy by helping make these experiences possible for our Youth Orchestra students.
Every two years, DCYOP's Youth Orchestra embarks on an international tour, the culmination of years of musical growth, preparation, and dedication. Students perform in renowned venues, discover new places and traditions, and create memories with their fellow musicians that extend far beyond the concert stage.
Your support helps reduce financial barriers to participation, ensuring that our students can take part in this extraordinary experience regardless of financial circumstances.
A gift to the Lyn McLain Memorial Tour Fund helps young musicians experience more of the world, share their music with new communities, and carry Lyn's vision forward for generations to come.
