Celebrate the Youth Orchestra's Summer 2024 International Tour!
Bon Voyage, DC Youth Orchestra!
Join us in a celebratory send-off concert and fundraiser for the DC Youth Orchestra, who will embark on a summer international tour to Germany, Austria, and Czechia! We will depart on July 8th — just two days after this concert — and will return on July 16th.
Touring has been an integral part of DC Youth Orchestra Program history. Since our inception in 1960, we have toured 24 countries including Scotland, Japan, South Africa, and Chile. Our Youth Orchestra will perform in renowned venues such as the Church of St. Rupert in Munich and Church of Saints Simon and Jude (home of the Prague Symphony) while continuing to deepen their friendships with fellow Orchestra members and learning about the culture of our host countries. We are excited for our Youth Orchestra students to continue this life-changing experience and are proud of their hard work and dedication as they prepare to represent the DC metropolitan area as musical ambassadors.
Our 2024 Bon Voyage Concert is dedicated to DCYOP alumni, who continue to inspire us as we continue making beautiful music, building our community, and honoring DCYOP's late founder Lyn McLain's legacy.
